Lucas the Lovey Dove
Little L is one friendly lil feller. That may have to do with coming into foster with an injury and spending his first two weeks here in my lap, or maybe it's because he's a flame point boy; they are renowned for their affectionate nature. Give that a google, you'll see!
I hadn't met many flame points before Lucas, and I have to say there's something about him. He looks you right in the eye when you talk to him, and from the look on his face you can tell he's carefully considering your point of view and crafting his response. Yep, he answers. He even says hi if you just look at him. He is very in tune. He goes to sleep at night to a video of kittens purring, and he actually matches the cadence of his purr to the litter on the soundtrack. Highest marks in the affection department! He gives out nose boops like fruitcakes at Christmas, and he'll gently put his little paw on your face to get your attention. He's quite amenable to having his ears kissed and sometimes will turn his head and get in a quick surprise lip smooch at the last minute. Lucas was supposedly hit by a car before he came into rescue, and it was a shaky couple of weeks while we monitored to see if he was going to need his paw amputated. I won't tell the whole story here, but his history will be available to his adopter. Long story short, he keeps the paw! He's missing a couple of toes and he may always have a bit of a limp but he plays and roughhouses like any other kitten, he can even climb the stairs. He has been the best little patient! He would sit politely while we did his hydrotherapy and took his medicine like a little champ. Maybe it's because he likes the attention. It's his right front paw, by the way. A shame, because he's definitely right-handed, but he really doesn't seem to mind.
