Update 7/20/2021:
Sapphire was returned from her second adopter because she peed outside her litter box, which got the resident dog excited. So far while back at her foster home, her litter box manners are fine, but we have a high-sided box standing by in case she thinks it would be fun to aim high again.

Update 3/1/2021:
As time has gone by, Sapphire has decided that she is not happy with the other cats and the dog in our house. She spends a lot of time up high (top of the refrigerator, on bookcase shelves) where she  eats her meals, and when she feels safe she roams around the house checking on things. She is still a work in progres, and at this point I think she might do well as an only cat with people who understand that she is a quirky girl.

Update 1/13/2019:
Sapphire was returned to ASR after a couple of years with her family. She is an active, playful, inquisitive girl, and she decided it would be fun to pounce on and bite her owners when she was bored.  They were an older couple with no other cats, and these games got a little old and painful after a while!

We have been trying figure out why Sapphire bites, what provokes her into it. She loves to be next to her people, but we have found that petting her on the head sometimes provokes a nip. She gets overstimulated easily, and if we pet her body too much, she will nip. Her old family says she would come at them from behind or under furniture and pounce on them and bite, but so far we haven’t seen that kind of behavior. It could be because she has  plenty of foster cats here to keep her attention and to play with her.

Original write up:
Sapphire was picked up by animal control in Houston when her owner was arrested. She's a sweet, happy girl, and seems to have been well cared for. She has a lot of energy, and needs someone who wants to play with her because she gives love nips when she gets excited.
