Gaga and Dusty's human Dad died about a month ago, and his friends very kindly took in the sisters. The friends knew the girls practically from their birth, and were very concerned that they have a good chance at finding a new home once their Dad was gone. They aren't supposed to be particularly bonded, but that may change now that their life has changed so dramatically.
